Red Rocks Cafe - Testimonials
- MARISA, I JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU HOW MUCH EVERYONE (ALL 38) ENJOYED EATING AND MEETING AT RED ROCK. FROM THE TIME WE LEFT OUR CARS AT THE VALET PARKING UNTIL WE GOT BACK IN THE CARS IT WAS AN OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE !! THE ENTIRE STAFF FROM THE FRONT ENTRANCE TO ALL OF THE WAITERS WERE EXCEPTIONAL. THE FOOD WAS VERY, VERY GOOD AND ORDERS WERE TAKING QUICKLY AND FOOD WAS SERVED IN RECORD TIME. WE ARRIVED AT 6:30 AND AT ABOUT 7:30 EVERYONE HAD BEEN SERVED. GIVE OUR COMPLIMENTS TO OUR WAITERS !! MANY OF THE GUEST HAD NEVER BEEN TO RED ROCK BEFORE BUT SAID THEY WOULD CERTAINLY BE BACK. THANKS AGAIN FOR MAKING IT A FINE DINNING EXPERIENCE! - "The food was so good, we all enjoyed our meals. Our waittress was perfect. She was pleasant and always there when we needed her. Her knowlege of the menu and specials was perfect. My husband thought some of the items were a little pricey! My salmon dish was perfect and I thought that price matched perfectly. It it a little noisey there, but I guess there is an attraction for the younger crowd. We were bringing friends of ours there from Florida, and I think they had a great time! Conversation was secondary I guess. But the food melted in my mouth and I would recommend it. I love the area the resturant is in."
- This is THE place to go in the Southpark area for an excellent selection of nicely done food, well priced with something for teenagers and goodies alike....and no attitude! It's a nice restaurant that behaves like "Cheers". Well priced with an attentive and professional waitstaff. When the occasion says "The Palm" but the pocketbook says Pizza... Go to Red Rocks instead. by Dan Johnson (2 reviews) February 21, 2009 - www.urbanspoon.com
- Red Rocks has a diverse regular menu, plus excellent nightly specials and GREAT desserts. I have never had a bad or even a so-so dinner there, and have been a frequent customer since it opened. The dining room is modern & pleasant, while the patio makes me feel like I am on a Paris street. I have also hosted several parties there and been very pleased with the service. by Manatee (11 reviews) November 17, 2009- www.urbanspoon.com

- "The table was ready for our group of 6 right as we walked in the door.We ordered everything from Sea Bass to pasta and it all came out at once, hot and visually appealing. They do not rush you and we ordered wines from a god list of choices. For the price, this is always a good choice on the weekend." - "We've been to Red Rocks many times and have never been disappointed. It's a great place with top-notch service and wonderful food. I haven't found a menu item yet that isn't great. While it wouldn't be my first choice for kids, they do have a kids menu and my niece liked her dinner." - "Red Rocks never disappoints. The food and atmosphere are second to none. We had excellent service and the food was wonderful. For my birthday, the chef wrote "Happy Birthday" in fudge on the dessert plate. Nice attention to detail...made a special evening even nicer. Make sure to get dessert when you are there!" - "This was our 6th visit to Red Rocks and I can say that the food and service was excellent every time (service was slow on one of 6 occasions due to extra heavy traffic from the Charlotte- food fest event). Atmosphere is comfortable, service was attentive and friendly -- I will continue to return here for dinner." - "Dining was excellent, it was Restaurant week, and the special included a glass of wine, which was unusual as part of the special, and was very good. Three other courses including dessert were very good. The Tuna was excellent, just seared, moist red center, thick piece with light seasoning. I would go back." - Red Rocks is doing so well, and probably doesn't need my review, but i just have to rave! this place is always super. i frequent the location in birkdale (it's by far my fave). i love, love the patio. there are tons of tables, but it's spacious. the servers are outstanding. they always make you feel like you are their top priority (lucky is the best server there). their mussels are so delicious. i've been known to get two orders. i just love the pittsburg salad. i don't think i've had an entree there that i didn't like. i also really like the way we get to check out the dessert before you order. i think it's a nice, classy touch. oh how i love you red rocks. keep up the great work!!! always a great spot by felix andrews (5 reviews) June 02, 2010 - www.urbanspoon.com
- I would definitely return to the Huntersville location in Birkdale Village. The atmosphere was inviting and the waitstaff was more than attentive. I had the Kyle Busch Black and Bleu Prime Filet with garlic smashed potatoes and asparagus. I like my steak rare and this filet was cooked perfectly! My husband didn't rave as much about his steak au poivre, which was the special that night. His steak was cooked nicely but the au poivre was just basically roughly crushed peppercorns and meat. No sauce at all. He was close to asking for A-1. My son ordered a slice of very decadant chocolate cake for dessert and we all loved it! We will definitely return again when we visit the Charlotte area!Delicious by Melissa Caprio Gaska (4 reviews) May 17, 2010 - Likes it - www.urbanspoon.com

- I have eaten twice at Red Rocks and both times were fantastic. The outdoor cafe is located in the heart Strawberry Hill. There is street parking as well as Valet parking. There is a Little know parking deck in the block behind the cafe so no need to pay a valet, he is going to park your car there anyway. The atmosphere is very laid back. We went as a group. The client tell is made up of a lot of locals on dates and the last time there we were graced by the presence of Daryl Waltrip and his entourage. It was a nice evening and no it was not a madhouse. Just business as usual. Both nights I had the Fletwood's Sesame Tuna cooked rare. an 8oz. sesame seared yellow fin tuna over wild rice risotto with asparagus finished with a ginger teriyaki broth. Magnificent! The drinks have a good amount of alcohol in them, the wine selection is very good and they have a very good selection of beer. The only thing I would change are the outdoor chairs. They need to be a little wider. The wait staff are very nice and friendly. Both our servers talked with us for a good amount of time between customers. There are plenty of seats inside. The bar area is designed for people to stand and talk as well as sit and eat. Great transition between the cafe, bar area and main restaurant. Not much I would change here. If you are in the area check it out. You feel like you are on a real main street. And of course there are plenty of beautiful women to keep the conversation going. I love the south!Jon P. - Best place in town I eat here about 4 times a week and have never had a bad meal or service. This place is really great, it is also cool to see all of the NASCAR drivers in there all of the time! Jul 22, 2008 - a916rider- www.events/charlotteobserver.com
- Jul 22, 2010 Discovered Red Rocks in Birkdale after I ate at their south Charlotte location. Aside from a bland pomegranate martini (cosmo much better) the food is OUTSTANDING. Topnotch, Excellent. Fillet and crab cake was superb as have been the other dishes I have had in the last few months. Killer deserts, the coconut cake is the best. Friendly folks, comfortable, but a heads up, it gets a bit packed on weekends. It's worth your time, effort and hard earned money.Enjoy! - www.tripadvisor.com
- April 8, 2010 My son Scott lives in the Charlotte area and has taken us here on several occassions. My entire family has ordered chicken, Italian, steaks, seafood at least once on all of our visits. I didn't think anyone could do all of these dishes extremely well; however, I was wrong. Ron and his entire staff make every visit memorable. In other words, everything is always cooked to perfection, the service is impeccable and the price is well worth the excellent quality and service that you recieve.- www.tripadvisor.com
- July 10, 2010 I always love the Fleetwood Tuna on Risotto. The wedge is also very good. Desserts are terrific. Try the coconut cake if it's available. It's also fun to get the "free hand massage" in the ladies room. ***It's not really a free hand massage, but there is a free salt scrub in the bathroom with instructions on how to give yourself a free hand massage. It's a high quality product, but a little strange. - www.tripadvisor.com
- Mar 18, 2008 My husband and I love this restaurant. Their food is wonderful and their service is top-notch; attentive without being intrusive. Our favorites are sesame tuna -ordered very rare- and quatro formagio (sp?)pasta. They also have great carrot cake and coconut cake. The only time that I did not like what was served was the Thanksgiving buffet. I wanted a typical southern Thanksgiving meal and that was not what was served.- www.tripadvisor.com
- Nov 27, 2007 Romantic little out of the way spot. They have a great menu and a large wine list. Sophisticated without being pretentious, Red Rocks is a great spot. Local owners Ron Herbert and John Love are class acts that always deliver new menu items and consistently great service!- www.tripadvisor.com

- I recenlty planned a company trip for 30 people. We were in town from Baltimore. I came across some good reviews for Red Rocks and decided to give it a try. We had dinner reservations for 8 pm on a Sunday evening. The Birkdale Village shopping center is really cute, but most of the places were closed because of the day of the week. Our tables were in the private room and had determined a prix fixe menu ahead of time. The three servers that were assigned to our group were excellent and had a wonderful attitude. For appetizers we had shrimp cocktail and queso dip. Dinner was a choice of: filet and lobster, filet and shrimp, tuna or lemon chicken. All entrees were delicious. Dessert was either italian creme cake or a triple chocolate cake. Both were fabulous! They had a good wine selection and our drinks stayed full all night. I would definitely recommend Red Rocks because of their food, atmosphere, and ease to deal with. Coming from the restaurant industry my group understands what it takes and Red Rocks has it!- www.insdierpages.com
